The pilgrimage circuit known as Char Dham Yatra is the pilgrimage to Kedarnath, Badrinath, Gangotri, and Yamunotri. These places are the holiest of temples in Uttarakhand. Kedarnath Dham: The temple of Kedarnath is dedicated to Lord Shiva. This is the highest of the four Char Dham Yatra temples.
Kedarnath Temple will reopen on 22 April. The temple priests announced the Opening date of Kedarnath Temple for 2027 on the Shiva Ratri by RajPurohit.

If we go by the traditional Char Dham Yatra route, it starts from Yamunotri and then goes to Gangotri. The pilgrims then visit Kedarnath and Badrinath. So Yamunotri and Gangotri are the first places of this Uttarakhand Char Dham Yatra. Pilgrims bathe in the holy kunds in these places and then proceed onwards to Kedarnath and Badrinath. Char Dham Tips (Things to Carry During CharDham Yatra 2027)
- In places like Kedarnath and other places on this route, you will have to do a lot of trekking on foot. So try to be physically fit and mentally alert.
- Do pranayama exercises, running, and cardiovascular exercises, and build your immune system and physical stamina at least 2 months before the yatra starts.
- Keep water, packaged food, energy bars, chocolates, and ready-to-eat foods, handy with you during the yatra.
- Tourists must take proper trekking shoes, and sturdy shoes with you on the trip as the roads are on mountains and not capable of slippers and sandals.
- Carry woolen clothing with you as nights can be cold in high-altitude places of Uttarakhand.
- Women should try and avoid wearing sarees, and instead wear salwar, pants or trousers.
- Keep a medical emergency kit, and first aid kit ready at hand.
- Ponies, and palkis, are available for yatris, so if you are feeling weak, you should take their help and do the yatra.
