Two Sacred Himalayan Destinations in One Yatra

Adi Kailash, also known as Chhota Kailash, is a sacred Himalayan destination in Pithoragarh district. The official district tourism information describes it as a site associated with Lord Shiva and highlights the nearby Parvati Sarovar and Gauri Kund.

The journey towards Adi Kailash takes travellers through the remote landscape of the Kumaon Himalayas. Jolingkong is an important point on the route, and the official district route information places Adi Kailash near Jollingkong at a high altitude.

Parvati Sarovar

Parvati Sarovar is a sacred lake located near Adi Kailash. The lake adds a peaceful spiritual element to the journey and is closely associated with the religious traditions surrounding the Adi Kailash region.

The surrounding Himalayan peaks and remote landscape make the area one of the memorable parts of the pilgrimage.

Gauri Kund

Gauri Kund is another important religious site near Adi Kailash. It is associated with Goddess Parvati and forms part of the spiritual landscape visited during the pilgrimage.

Om Parvat

Om Parvat is known for the naturally formed pattern on the mountain that resembles the sacred Hindu symbol “Om”. The Pithoragarh district administration identifies Om Parvat as a major natural and scenic attraction and states that it can be viewed from Nabhidhang.

The mountain landscape around Nabhidhang creates a striking setting for the darshan and is one of the major highlights of the Adi Kailash pilgrimage.
